Jeep is currently the #6 best selling brand in the US (between Honda and Hyundai).
Mazda and Subaru could go 4-cylinders-or-less like Volvo. Only the CX-9, Legacy, and Outback have the 6 shooters.
We could see mid-engined vehicles on the line-ups for Chevrolet and Hyundai before Mercedes-Benz.
You can still buy a brand new Toyota Sequoia or Nissan Frontier, Xterra, and Armada.
The Mercedes SL can start between $84,000 and $215,250 (S-Class starting ranges from $94,400 to $189,350).

“Jeep is currently the #6 best selling brand in the US (between Honda and Hyundai).”
That’s interesting. I’ve just looked up Jeep’s figures in Ireland.
No. 30, market share 0.04%.
Honda are No. 19 at 1.12% and Kia No. 9 at 4.53%.

And for the Netherlands, first 5 months of 2015:
Jeep: #30 (0.21%). Was #34 and 0.05% in 2014. In 2015 Jeep’s wedged between Alfa Romeo and Subaru. The Renegade alone had a market share of 0.16%, so the increase was purely caused by the Renegade.
Honda: #27 (0.33%). Just outsold by Tesla at #26, sold slightly better than Lexus at #28.
Kia: #7 (5.14%). Between Citroën and BMW.
Hyundai: #18 (2.78%). Between Mitsubishi and SEAT.

You know looking at our stats, Kia is starting to hit Hyundai’s volume. It’s like Hyundai is hitting a roof on sales. Bet that is becoming a concern. Can you imagine Kia getting big enough to buy themselves back?

In the U.K. for Q1 of 2015, they are 28th with 2,722 units sold (0.37% market share). Last year they were 30th (0.2% market share). Dacia is in 24th with 1.02% market share and 7,529 units sold.

Doesn’t work that way I’m afraid. Hyundai and Kia are only going to separate if Hyundai float them and that’s not going to happen.
Plus the component sharing between one and the other is how they can both stay in business.

Jeep did 490,000 in 2013, 690,000 in 2014, and ia over 400,000 so far for 2015. Promotions for everyone!

Oh I know, but it’s more a true rivalry being created from the top end. Should see some really interesting sales tactics coming up.

690,000 in the U.S. compared to 3,909 in the U.K. for 2014. Mind we only sold 2,476,435 in the whole of 2014 compared to the U.S. 16.5million.

I understand, I just wanted to share the volume of growth in the US, especially when the numbers weren’t small to begin with.

Ye’, the numbers are crazy.
Though in context. The U.S. is five times the population size of the U.K. and six and a half times the number of cars sold.

Sorry this is my fault, I’m using the wrong data for what I mean to get across. It’s the near doubling of sales in under two years for a marker they have been in since forever. I’m shocked the UK growth percentage isn’t higher since the numbers are smaller. What’s selling rapidly in the UK?

I think the growth is looking well for Jeep in the U.K. if they have already sold 2,722 in the first quarter of 2015 compared to 3,909 for the whole of 2014.

Small manual petrol hatches are the bread and butter of many companies as they have a small physical footprint that are safe, practical and often little to no road tax (road tax= VED, vehicle excise duty based on type of vehicle and CO2 emissions) a year.
The Nissan QashQai does well because it’s made in the U.K. and they invariably have a very large discount, so it’s a small to midsize SUV for midsize car money.

Not really surprising actually. SUVs are big money in North America and Jeep finally has an outstanding lineup. The Renegade, Cherokee and Grand Cherokee sell in great numbers because they’re generally great vehicles within their segments. Then you have the rather dated Compass/Patriot/Wrangler which still manage to sell in somewhat good numbers.
